Educated in Europe and then in the United States, where she has been living for the last 38 years, Irini’s approach is client-centered with a multicultural insight. Her goal is to help her clients discover and develop their inner resources in order to experience life at its fullest.
Irini holds a Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology from Assumption University, with a focus on CBT, and has significant professional experience in individual, family and group therapy. Licensed in Mental Health Counseling (LMHC) through the Massachusetts Board of Allied Mental Health, she offers compassionate professional counseling, informed by years of experience. Trained in MBSR (Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction), CBT (Cognitive Behavior Therapy), IFS (Internal Family Systems), DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy), Irini helps individuals/couples to cope with anxiety, relationship/marital issues, trauma-related depression and anxiety (PTSD, family related stress, family of origin issues).
Irini’s philosophy is that one size does not fit all. Therefore, her approach is eclectic, and draws from different schools of thought, focusing on validating her clients’ own natural coping skills, and encouraging them to develop new ones (mindfulness, meditation, relaxation, grounding techniques).
